“Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest.”  John 4:35

In Matthew 9: 36-38 we read, “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.’”

Even after two thousand years of the church proclaiming the gospel, there continues to be a great need for proclaiming the Good News of the gospel. It can be a daunting task to look at the whole of those who still do not believe, and we may even feel like it is an improbable task. But we must look not just at the crowd, but at each individual; look at each person the Lord has put in your sphere of influence. It may even seem like you are getting nowhere in your desire of seeing someone come to know Christ.

Be encouraged (and challenged) by Jesus’s words in John 4:35, “Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest.”
